Hi there, I'm Francesca
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Bologna, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial few months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a great deal of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Sunset Meadow Kinetic
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — useful advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Stands For (And What It Doesn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from our life in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not an official tourism body resource
- Not a sponsored-review site
- Not a generic travel diary
Looking Forward
Our stay in Italy goes on, and so does our learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Bologna or anywhere in Italy, don’t hesitate to contact me.
